We Treat a Diverse Range of Pain Conditions Including

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis of the knee is characterized by the progressive loss of cartilage in the knee joint, a natural cushioning between bones. This degenerative condition leads to changes not only in the cartilage but also in the bones themselves, often resulting in pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. It can affect one or both knees and is more common in older individuals.

Knee Ligament Injuries

Knee ligament injuries involve damage to one of the four main ligaments in the knee: the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), or lateral collateral ligament (LCL). These injuries can also include meniscal tears, which affect the cartilage that acts as a shock absorber between your shinbone and thighbone. Such injuries can result from sports, accidents, or sudden movements.

Lumbar Disc Bulge

A lumbar disc bulge occurs when a disc in the lower spine extends beyond its normal perimeter in the vertebral column. This condition can lead to pressure on spinal nerves, resulting in pain that may extend to the buttocks, legs, and feet. It's often associated with aging but can also result from strain or injury.

Heading photo

Sciatica

Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Typically, sciatica affects only one side of the body and is often caused by a herniated disc or bone spur compressing part of the nerve.

Cervical Disc Bulge

Similar to a lumbar disc bulge, a cervical disc bulge occurs in the neck region of the spine. This condition involves the displacement of disc material beyond its normal space, which can impinge on nearby nerves or the spinal cord itself, leading to neck pain, stiffness, and symptoms that may radiate into the arms and hands.

Cervical/Lumbar Spondylosis

Cervical and lumbar spondylosis are terms used to describe the age-related wear and tear affecting the spinal disks in the neck and lower back, respectively. This degeneration can lead to a reduction in the space between vertebrae, bone spurs, and other changes that may compress spinal nerves or the spinal cord.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition marked by weakened bones that are more prone to fracture. It occurs when the creation of new bone doesn't keep up with the removal of old bone. Osteoporosis affects all bones in the body but is most detrimental when it leads to fractures in the hip, wrist, or spine, which can have serious consequences.

Lysander Pain Care and Ortho Center specialises in the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques to support healing and return strength and stability to your knee and spine, helping you get back to your peak performance.

Our Comprehensive Treatments Include

Regenerative Therapy :
A Paradigm Shift

Regenerative therapy represents a significant shift in medical treatment philosophy, moving toward harnessing the body's intrinsic healing capabilities. Through techniques such as stem cell therapy and tissue engineering, this approach aims to repair, regenerate, or replace damaged cells, tissues, or organs. For patients, this means a potential for substantial recovery in conditions previously deemed irreversible, offering a new horizon in medical treatment options.

Arthroscopy: Precision and Recovery

Arthroscopy stands as a testament to the evolution of surgical techniques, offering a minimally invasive option for diagnosing and treating joint disorders. Utilizing a small camera and instruments, surgeons can perform precise interventions through tiny incisions, significantly reducing recovery times and enhancing surgical outcomes. This method exemplifies the commitment to patient-centered care, prioritizing effective treatment with minimal physical intrusion.

Neuroplasty: Addressing Chronic Pain

Neuroplasty offers a targeted approach to relieving chronic pain associated with pinched nerves. This minimally invasive procedure focuses on decompressing trapped nerves, thereby alleviating pain and restoring function. Conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica, which once required more invasive interventions, can now be treated with greater precision and less patient downtime, underscoring the advances in pain management strategies.

Vertebroplasty: Immediate Relief for Vertebral Fractures

Vertebroplasty provides a rapid and effective treatment for the acute pain of vertebral fractures, often resulting from osteoporosis. The procedure involves injecting a special cement into the fractured vertebrae, stabilizing the spine and delivering immediate pain relief. This intervention highlights the innovative approaches to spinal care, focusing on stabilizing critical structures with minimal impact on the patient's overall health.

Nerve Blocks: Strategic Pain Management

Nerve blocks serve as a strategic component in the management of chronic pain, offering temporary relief by interrupting pain signals to the brain. This technique is invaluable for patients seeking immediate pain relief, facilitating participation in physical therapy and other rehabilitative activities. It exemplifies the nuanced understanding of pain pathways and the importance of a multifaceted approach to pain management.

Minimally Invasive Interventions for Knee Arthritis

Knee arthritis, a common ailment, is now being addressed through minimally invasive interventions that target the source of pain within the knee joint. Techniques such as radiofrequency ablation and hyaluronic acid injections exemplify the shift towards treatments that offer relief while preserving joint integrity and minimizing recovery time. These advancements underscore the commitment to improving patient mobility and quality of life.

Advanced Treatments for Spine Problems

Spine-related issues, including disc bulge, sciatica, and spondylosis, are increasingly managed through minimally invasive treatments. These procedures, such as laser surgery and endoscopic discectomy, aim to alleviate pain and restore function with minimal disruption to the patient's body. This approach represents a significant progression in spine care, providing better outcomes and faster recoveries compared to traditional surgical methods.

Strength Training: A Pillar of Physical Health

Strength training transcends traditional fitness boundaries, offering significant benefits for musculoskeletal health. It's not just about building muscle; it's a key player in preventing osteoporosis, easing arthritis, and enhancing recovery from musculoskeletal injuries. Tailored strength training programs can significantly improve a patient's recovery trajectory and prevent future issues, marking it as an essential component of modern rehabilitative and preventive healthcare.

Aerial Yoga & Zumba: Engaging Wellness Modalities

Aerial Yoga and Zumba bring a fresh and engaging perspective to maintaining physical well-being. Aerial Yoga combines traditional yoga poses with aerial arts, using hammocks that allow for spine decompression and improved flexibility. Zumba, on the other hand, merges dance with aerobic exercise, creating a fun, high-energy workout that boosts cardiovascular health and mood. These activities highlight the importance of enjoyment in exercise, proving that effective physical wellness practices can also be immensely enjoyable.

These advancements are not merely about symptom management but aim to restore function and improve quality of life with minimal patient discomfort.

I had visited Dr.Naveen Lysander twice with regard to ligament injuries in both instances which we thought was a fracture-once for my cousin and once for me . The doctor was very down to earth and treated us with patience . He was very reasonable without simply requesting for X rays and other scans . He diagnosed and recommended medicines and treatment which helped to ease the pain and healed over time. The consultation fees was also reasonable . I would definitely recommend the doctor for any ortho related issues to get straight forward diagnosis and treatment with reasonable consultation fees.

I got consultation from Dr Naveen, one of the best listeners and an empathising person, I got an accident and my Ring finger was injured with swell and pain, his way of asking right questions to understand the problem was great, and his explanation on the problem and the attitude of not taking x-ray if the pain doesn't subside within 24 hours was highly impressive. As said, I got the pain reduced, and able to do my regular activities within next 2 days. I recommend him for any sort of Ortho consultations, and definitely wishing him a great success. Thank you Dr Naveen !!
